“… I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.” (Rom. 16:19)
There is only one thing that time does not change, and that is God. God is not bound by time; therefore, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb. 13:8) Everything else, but God, changes. But if God does not change then what God considers to be good and evil does not change either. What God calls good, His children are commanded to love, and what God calls evil, His children are commanded to hate. God tells us that His Word is Truth, and His Truth is what believers are to use as the measure between that which is good and that which is evil. Therefore, God’s Word is the Truth that rightly divides what is good from what God deems to be evil — what we are to love versus what we are to hate.
For the world to remain right side up, we need to have a foundation for what we consider to be good and evil. Having that foundation will not make the world a perfect place (evil will still exist), it simply means that we have a solid foundation from which to determine what is good and what is evil. If we veer off course and begin to expand our parameters regarding what we determine “love” to be, then we will begin to accept or tolerate evil as good. Again, if we breach beyond what the Word of God says regarding what love is and begin to allow the world to define what “love” is, then as teachers we are not doing a better job of discipling others to love the way that Jesus loved, rather we are simply attempting to teach believers to love what God hates!
One thing is clear, we cannot agree on much at all these days, but the one thing that perhaps everyone can agree on today is that the world is no longer right side up, but upside-down. We are smothered in deception. Nothing is as it seems. Fantasy has become our sick “reality,” and Truth will no longer be tolerated. The fact is, the Word of God (Truth) is no longer accepted as our foundation between good and evil and as a result, many believers are loving what God calls evil. The more ignorant “Christians” become of God’s Word, the more those same “Christians” will allow our culture to determine not only what love is, but who God is as well!
Love is not love; God is love. Therefore, whatever is of God is love and whatever is of the world (the devil) is evil. We are not commanded to love evil (nor the things of this world), rather we are commanded to hate evil. (1 John 2:15-17, James 4:4-5, Rom. 12:9, Prov. 8:13) Yet we are not commanded to hate our enemies, rather we are commanded to love them. The greatest challenge in our effort to follow (obey) the second commandment (love others above yourself) is to understand how to effectively combine two of God’s commands into one way of life. The two commands that I am referring to are:
- Love your enemies.
- Hate what is evil — stand against evil.
If your life is an accurate reflection of one who follows a perfect combination of living out both commands, then you would be doing an incredible job of “living like Jesus lived.” (1 John 2:5-6) I’ll be honest, I struggle tremendously with number one, and sometimes it’s hard for me to keep number two in its place (refrain from attaching my hatred of evil to the person displaying it). The reality is, if you do such a “good job” of hating evil, that you fail to effectively love your enemies, then you are not living the Truth — you are not demonstrating the Light of Jesus. But the flip is also true. If you do such a “good job” at loving your enemies that you fail to take a stand against evil, then your failure to stand against evil does not accurately reflect the Light of Jesus either.
If we do not hold to Truth (God’s Word) when it comes to differentiating between what is good and what is evil, then we cannot effectively hold to the commands of God as they apply to both ends of this spectrum. Once we no longer hold the Word of God to serve as our foundation of Truth, we lose our ability to discern what is good from what is evil. If we allow man to make the distinction between what love is versus what sin is, our “wisdom” will most definitely lead us down the wrong path! And that is exactly how you wind up loving that which is evil, all under the umbrella of “Christ’s Light.” God commands us: “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” (Prov. 3:7) So what did we do? We have trusted in the wisdom of man (the world) to create a “god” who is not to be feared and change what we determine good and evil to be. Leaning on human wisdom will always lead you down a path that appears to be right, but in the end, leads to destruction. That, according to God. (Prov. 14:12)
Our disobedience to God’s Word is not anything new, man has historically done just that from the time that God gave us His Word. But it is one thing to be guilty of sin (as all humans are), and it is another thing entirely to consider sin “good” — accept evil as that which is good! Again, sinning is nothing new, but it is not the existence of sin that is resulting in our nation’s demise. What ultimately destroys a nation is not the existence of sin, what results in God removing His hand from your land is when you begin to teach evil as good! And that is exactly what is happening today in America as “believers” are not doing nearly enough to stand against evil as their silence demonstrates a lack of love for Truth.
As followers of Jesus, we must be mindful that attempting to please people and being a servant of Christ do not go hand in hand. (Gal. 1:10) Whatever one’s excuse, the only reason that a believer would fail to stand against evil is due to the fear of what standing for Truth would possibly bring. This of course begs the question, does cowardice accurately reflect “living the light of Jesus?” For those of you who may not be well versed in scripture, you might want to know that God lists the cowardly FIRST regarding those who will not inherit His kingdom in the book of Revelation! PLEASE READ… (Rev. 21:7-8) That is correct, the cowardly are listed first; even before the unbelievers, the murderers, those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, and liars. The cowardly are first on the list regarding who God says will be “assigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur” — hell. Is it not an act of cowardice if you refuse to stand up for the innocence, rights, and lives of our children, even if your refusal to do so is due to what you believe “love” to be?
God’s Word is perfect, and there is a reason why He lists cowardice as that which is evil. Being passive, refusing to stand against evil, and allowing evil to be taught as good results in a nation being overcome by evil. The enemy knows that if he can deceive believers into believing that it is NOT a demonstration of “love” to stand against evil, then his deception now serves as the measure between right and wrong rather than the Word of God. Once Christianity “progresses” or becomes “woke” enough that the subjects within the church condone evil to be taught as good, then Christianity as a religion is dead — it becomes worthless! Today, Christians no longer perceive tolerating evil to be a sin, rather they view it to reflect “living the light of Jesus.”
There are two categories of sin: Sins of commission (something that we do), and sins of omission (something that we do not do). When you allow evil to be taught as good, your sin of omission causes much more harm than what you might expect. Failing to stand up for the innocent or being silent and allowing evil to be called good would fall under the sin of omission. Much of the sin that we concern ourselves with are the sins of commission, as they are much easier for us to measure regarding the impact that that type of sin has on our lives and the lives of others. However, allowing evil to be called good is a sin with catastrophic consequences. For a real-life example of how the sin of omission causes great harm to innocent people, let us look at a topic heavy in the news today… critical race theory.
Imagine if an organization that does not believe that ALL black lives matter was formed and considered itself to be “good.” Would a belief that some black lives do not matter hold up to God’s Truth regarding that which is good? Of course not! And the simple reason is that ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER, not just those black lives on one side of the political aisle! The black life taken by the bullet of a white cop matters, and the black cop who got fired (or killed) for standing up for truth matters. The black single mom who is afraid to leave her house at night due to the violence in her neighborhood matters, and the fatherless black child’s life who is being recruited by gangs matters. The black lives who stand on the side of the BLM movement matter, and the black lives who stand against it matter as well. Let us be clear, the truth is that ALL, I repeat, ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER!
But simply because all black lives matter does not mean that you can conclude that an organization that calls itself Black Lives Matter stands for “good,” if what they believe (stand for) is a position that God calls evil. Furthermore, if you start an organization called BLM and that organization suggests that ONLY those black lives on the side of their Godless, Marxist, racist, evil agenda matter, then your organization does not genuinely care about ALL black lives, just those who support their agenda. And if you are afraid to speak out against that evil no matter whether you are white or black, then you are allowing those who are pushing critical race theory to bring that evil into our schools to indoctrinate our children. As a result of your silence, you are allowing the brainwashing of tens of millions of innocent kids and teaching them that evil is good. And that’s how cowardice kills!
Sure, part of our silence is because we have been deceived. Deception is the preferred tactic of the enemy for a reason, it is extremely effective! What better way to slip critical race theory in under the table and indoctrinate our children, than by hiding it under the veil of a name that implies that if you do not support their position then you are a racist who does not care about black lives? They conveniently label their organization Black Lives Matter to give the impression that if you do not support BLM then you do not believe that black lives matter. Which is of course ludicrous! I believe that ALL black lives matter, therefore I cannot support an organization that believes that only certain black lives do. BLM has absolutely nothing to do with genuine love and concern for the welfare of ALL people of color, and if you believe that they do then you are deceived. BLM is preying on white guilt, ignorance, and fear in an effort to brainwash our nation’s youth, and if we sit by and allow their evil to be taught as good then we are guilty of cowardice — a sin of omission!
We fought one civil war in this country in an effort to remove the evil and ignorance of a racial injustice suggesting that one race was superior to another, and now we are facing another battle if we are going to prevent the evil and ignorance of a racial injustice suggesting that one race is more evil than another. Evil comes in all colors, only ignorance would suggest otherwise. No color is more or less evil, and no color is more or less racist. You do not overcome evil by teaching evil (critical race theory), you overcome evil by teaching Truth. (Rom. 12:21)
This is just one example, you could also refer to the ridiculous, over-the-top, extreme, unbelievable reaction that we have had to this virus. Our reaction to this virus has destroyed immeasurably more lives when compared to the lives that it will directly take! One might ask, how does our reaction to this virus reflect the sin of omission? Well, protecting the vulnerable is good, but only if you protect ALL our vulnerable, not just those that fall on the side of the “vulnerable” spectrum. Our children also fall under the category of “the vulnerable,” and different from the vulnerable who are elderly, our children are our future! Should we destroy all our children’s lives (our future) for the sake of those who have reached the end-of-life stage? That certainly does not reflect “loving our neighbor.” If in our effort to love our neighbor we cause harm to our other neighbors, then we are not effectively living out the command. The fact is, we will never really know the full measure in which our reaction to this virus will have negatively affected our children’s emotional wellbeing, but I believe the mental abuse may be irreparable for many. Consider what we are teaching our children by our reaction to this virus. Does our reaction reflect a people of faith, or rather does our reaction reflect that of a people living in fear of death? Just think, we did all this for a virus that if truth were told, has a survival rate of probably somewhere in the ninety-eighth percentile.
But our sin of omission (refusal to stand for Truth) does not stop there, allowing equity to replace equality, allowing gender perversion to be taught in schools, allowing the silencing of conservative voices as well as allowing what God calls good to be spoken of as evil all fall under the sin of cowardice. I know “cowardism” is not a word, but it should be because I believe that “ism” is the silent killer that serves as the true “existential threat” to our nation! And allowing evil to be taught as good is one hundred percent responsible for the destruction of our nation. Meanwhile, many “Christians” are ignorant to the fact that this sexual identity crisis that we are facing is merely the result of a nation that no longer thought it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God. (Rom. 1:24-32) According to scripture, this gender perversion, sexual immorality, and epidemic of evil that is sweeping our land is the consequence of rejecting His Truth — a curse for loving evil! (Deut. 28:15-68)
So, what should we do about the evil overtaking our freedoms and our democracy? If those on the side of evil (those who oppose God’s law) are taking away our freedoms and mentally abusing our children, is it not an act of cowardice to refuse to stand against that evil? If you believe that it is wrong to stand up and fight to defend Truth, justice, and protect our children’s mental health, do not think that God will accept your cowardice as an accurate reflection of living in accordance with Jesus’ Light! If the enemy can convince “believers” that standing against evil is NOT accurately reflecting “the Light of Jesus,” then those who are deceived will be guilty of refusing to love the Truth. Allowing evil to be taught as good is not loving the Truth, nor is it commendable before God. (2 Thess. 9-13)
I find it interesting that it is often the “Christians” today who are putting up the biggest fight against fighting back against this evil that is overtaking our country. They say, “we need to be a light like Jesus was.” Yes, disciples of Christ are commanded to wholeheartedly walk in His Light. So, wouldn’t sparing our children from being mentally abused be a light to those children who could be spared being brainwashed from being “taught” that evil is good? Wouldn’t our children perceive giving them their lives and freedom back as a demonstration of Christ’s Light? And, wouldn’t simply sitting back and loving, accepting, and tolerating evil to be taught as good in our schools be viewed as an act of cowardice in the eyes of God who commands us to reject evil?
Do you believe a peacekeeper and a peacemaker to be the same? For Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers,” He did not say that the peacekeepers would be called children of God! (Matt. 5:9) Yet, all I hear the church doing is to promote peacekeeping all in the name of “love.” According to the church, the way to stop the spread of evil that is removing our freedoms, mentally abusing our children, and destroying our democracy is to “love it away.” Only someone who does not believe the Word of God to be Truth, or someone who is completely ignorant as to what God’s Word says, would be dull enough to think that God would approve of allowing Satan’s Godless doctrine to brainwash our children and indoctrinate them with a teaching that preaches evil as that which is good.
What we stand for and what we stand against is the best indicator as to what our hearts will reveal that we really believe before the Lord. “Blessed is the one who doesn’t condemn himself by what he approves.” (Rom. 14:22) Jesus said that “if you belong to the world, it will love you as its own.” (John 15:19) Does your interpretation as to what “love” is result in the world loving you or hating you? Because Jesus says that if you adhere to His Truth in the matter, the world will hate you. Standing down and doing nothing about the evil that is overtaking this nation is your choice. The question is, what will that reveal your heart to believe? Would God view that as a demonstration of love when doing nothing will result in the removal of our freedoms and democracy, as well as the brainwashing of our innocent children? Not according to His Word! (Deut. 13:5, Deut. 17:7, 1 Cor. 5:13)
Many “Christians” today are those who just sit back and say, “God’s got this,” and “we win in the end.” Well, sure, God is always in control. I am well aware that He’s “got this.” But what does that reality have to do with our responsibility to defend His Word – stand for Truth? Ask those of the days of Noah, Lot, and God’s chosen people, Israel, how well the fact that “God’s got this” worked out in their situations. Should Joshua and Caleb have just stood down and taken that approach like the rest of Israel? What about Paul, Peter, and John? Yes, God is always “got this,” even when His wrath rains down on the people of this earth for their disobedience to His Word!
Regarding the position that “we” win in the end, do not be deceived. It is not the “Christian” who wins in the end, it is those on the side of Truth who win in the end! And those on the side of Truth will not be measured by whether you call yourself a “Christian.” (Matt. 25:31-46) If you think that silence, or lack of action, is going to render you on the side of the “sheep” rather than the side of the “goats” upon your day of judgment, then I hope that you feel extremely confident that your silence is founded on Truth (God’s Word) rather than in Satan’s deception!
And by the way, the “end” in that story is not referring to this life, but the life eternal. As for this life, scripture reveals that godlessness, lawlessness, wickedness, and evil will flood this earth during the last days. Shall we sit back and love what is evil, while our loved ones suffer the consequences, or stand for Truth and fight against it? Do you seek and accept glory from man or glory from God? Because Jesus reveals “belief” to be characterized by seeking the glory that comes from the only God! (John 5:44) Will being silent about allowing evil to be taught as good, make you innocent about what is evil? What we call “love” will determine whether we hold to God’s Word as Truth, or the devil’s, and our eternal fate rides in the balance. Whose position on “love” do you agree with? On which side of “truth” do you stand? Fear the Lord!
